We are so excited to be returning to the Carry on Crafting festival for a forth year running for its 5th Birthday! The festival will be held at the south of England showground, Ardingly, West Sussex on the 11th & 12th July, 2026!
 
Join our Ceramic Carved Vase Workshop and create a beautifully textured piece using carving techniques to add pattern, depth, and personality. We will also be touching on coiling technique to create the necks of our vases. While the focus is on crafting a unique vase, the workshop is designed to be versatile so you can also shape your piece into a mug or a small plant pot if you prefer. Keep your design clean and minimal or experiment with more elaborate carved patterns and textures. By the end of the session, you’ll have a functional ceramic piece that’s entirely your own and suited to how you want to use it.
 
For this workshop I will be holding one workshop a day to give people a chance to decide which workshop they would like to have a go at.

Sunday - 1.30pm - 3.00pm  
 
The workshop will include all your materials, firings and finally a glaze dipping in a colour of your choice. These pieces will be dipped in a rustic white glaze or we can discuss other colours on the day.
 
With all ceramic creations they each have to have two firings. Once your creations have been made I will take them home with me to be dried out and have their first firing in my kiln. Once fired, I will dip them in your chosen glaze and fired for a final time. All pieces will be posted once ready. This workshop requires no previous experience and is perfect for beginners. We look forward to seeing you there!
